Questions about knee replacement

Hubby needs a knee replacement, he has gone through a year of therapy shots and more shots, ins. finally gives the ok to have a total knee replacement. Could anyone please tell me what to expect for him, the pros and cons. Its a go for surgery when he finally says so, but now he is hesitating because he will have to be away for at least 2 weeks or more for surgery, hospital stay and rehab and that means I will be alone here and he doesn't like that idea with my health the way it is, but of course I want him to get the surgery because he has been in so much pain for so darn long.

Any help appreaciated...
