Hi, Everyone.........yes, Zyprexa is along the same lines as Risperdal

and Seraquel. We tried Gareth on it several yrs. ago for a 2 month period.

From my notes, here's what happened. Major decrease in

growling/rocking/stimming; major decrease in teeth grinding; major decrease

in guttural sounds; Could not tolerate Ritalin; Major increase in

nastiness/anger/echolalia; major increase in OCD behaviors; started swatting

at 'flies' that weren't there (hallucinations???). In the long run, we got

rid of a lot of the autistic behaviors but got a very belligerent, OCD child.

Prayers are with you that this is your miracle drug, though. You know our

kids, what works for one is a disaster for the next one!!!

everything you went through as I have had similar experiences. Charlyne>

What is sooooooooo frustrating to me is how there are so many BAD

school districts out there. This is G's 4th district and, granted, only one

was from Hell, but from what others write, there are plenty more out there.

I am still very vigilant about watching and checking on Gareth in school,

too.....and he's in a good district now with aides and teachers. I would

never dream of checking up on his 'normal' brother at school. Why do we have

to be so vigilant and concerned that our special needs kids are being treated

respectfully and properly? Happy Birthday to all

the kids out there. Take care, Everyone.

Margaret
