Guest guest
As some of you may remember, I wrote that Alabama Power Co has put an insert in all of their bills this past month, asking every household in the state of Alabama to change out one bulb in their home to the bulbs that contain mercury (I can't remember the name of that bulb AHHHH). Anyway the insert from ALabama Power said nothing about mercury being in the bulbs. I emailed to them and got their reply today. Here it is: Dear Customer, Thank you for your email to Alabama Power. We participated in the Change a Light campaign as part of the national U.S. Department of Energy - Energy Star program which urges customers to sign a pledge to change out one standard light bulb and become more energy efficient, thereby saving money and energy through conservation. On the bulbs issued through us, it is clearly listed along with a website and phone number, that the bulb should be properly disposed of due to mercury. By taking this small step to install a compact fluorescent bulb, the cost benefit and savings will go a long way in helping customers to see savings on their energy bill over the life of the bulb. Guest guest
Thanks for the info. I'm passing this on to my elderly dad who has service through Alabama Power Company. He just changed his bulbs over... > > As some of you may remember, I wrote that Alabama Power Co has put an insert > in all of their bills this past month, asking every household in the state of > Alabama to change out one bulb in their home to the bulbs that contain mercury > (I can't remember the name of that bulb AHHHH).
