I feel so terrible for the family and the poor little baby. I think that they should contact Dr. Stoller to discuss antivirals especially isoprinosine. You've got his email from this list.

Please keep us updated.

With what I know now, if I had a child that age who had this

response to vaccines, I'd bring them down to Thoughtful House and

have Wakefield consult on an emergency basis (I can't

remember his schedule from the trial in Britain, but he comes back

to Texas in between court dateas according to Thoughtful House's

news letter). http://www.thoughtfulhouse.org/

Cause DOES determine treatment. At least with competent physicians

it does.

Take him to a competant classically trained homeopath to help the child recover from this onslaught.

Go to NCH website to look for one in your area. No harm in giving remedies for his symptoms now while they are fuddling around with tests

I am physically nauseous reading

this! How unbelievably devastating for the child and the parents. I

agree with Anacat, thoughtful house came to mind. However I think this

should be sent to the assholes in the New Offit People for Vaccinations

group. He’s the reason this baby is sick!!

Much love, and prayers to this family…-

Subject: Colleague's Son

Seriously Ill

After 8 Week Shots

A co-worker has an 11 week old son who's been

hospitalized for the

last several weeks. He was very healthy when he got four

vaccinations at his 8 week well baby visit. His dad pushed back on

the hepatitis and the rotavirus vax but the pediatrician said, " Get

them over with, then he'll only cry once. He can't go to daycare

unless he gets these. " (Untrue, of course.)

The kid got very sick and dehydrated within a few days. He spent a

week on an IV where he seemed to get better. They brought him home

and he got worse. He's been in a top children's hospital for about

10 days this time.

First, they said he might have cystic fibrosis. Then, last week,

the specialist told the parents she was 99.9% certain that he had a

very rare disorder, Micro Villi Something Disorder MVID (200 kids

worldwide) that meant he could never digest carbohydrates, would

live on a feeding tube and die by age 3 or 4.

Imagine how devastating this was……until the test results came back

with no such disorder. The doctors are absolutely stumped. Dad

kept asking about the impact of the rotavirus vaccine and the

doctors wouldn't listen until he brought in an extract of the VAERS

data from this year with all reactions to Rotateq that I sent him.

Now the doctors are listening.

They are posting it on their listserv and contacting other doctors

to see what they can come up with. Dad is also trying to talk to his

pediatric practice to get them doing some searching too. But it

looks like they are going to discharge the baby next week without a

diagnosis and with TPN and NG tube for feeding...not a great

situation.

The really worrisome part is that the biopsy results are really

weird and his gut is very severely damaged (oesophagus is intact,

villi are intact, microvilli are intact but his glands are

completely destroyed). The doctors haven't seen this before. They

also they say that this may be vaccine triggered too but it would

not change the line of treatment. They also want to make sure that

whatever happened has not messed up his auto immune system.

His dad wants a second opinion and is searching for other pediatric

GE's.

Has anyone seen this story before? Who should I send him to?

(Local DAN doctor is saying " wait and see. " )

Thanks for any help you can offer.

If the Microvilli are intact this is not MVID!!!!!!!!

Personally, I suspect the rotovirus vaccine and If anyone were asking, and they are not, I would put his kid on antivirals that might react with the rotovirus.

Off hand, I do not know if any do. There is also Isoprinosine (available outside the USA) that has broad spectrum antiviral activity.KP Stoller, MDPresident, International Hyperbaric Medical AssocMedical Director, Hyperbaric Medical Center of New Mexicowww.hbotnm.com-- "Max " <max.walker@...> wrote:

Isoprinosine does have activity against the rotavirus

Now the trick will be to get the drug to the baby.

If the baby is still in the hospital I doubt they will do so unless they are convinced it would help and then they could get special permission from the hospital board and IRB.

This would require a strong advocate. Right now they think he has MVID even though the microvilli are intact. So, we are not even working with the correct diagnosis.

In other words, this is going to be very difficult

Braz J Med Biol Res. 1996 Feb ;29 (2):219-22 8731352

Effect of isoprinosine on rotavirus replication in vitro.

[My paper] R E Linhares , M A Rebello , C M Nozawa

Isoprinosine (IPS) is a synthetic drug whose antiviral effect on rotavirus replication in vitro has been characterized in terms of the decrease in metachromasia after acridine orange staining. The present study describes the effect of IPS on the synthesis of viral RNA in vitro. MA-104 cell cultures infected with simian rotavirus strain SA-11 were incubated with zero, 250, 500 and 1,000 micrograms/ml IPS and 22, 24, 48, 52, 72 and 76 h after infection the cultures were submitted to a 1-h starvation period, followed by a 2-h pulse with 10 microCi/ml of [3H]-uridine. The homogenates of virus-infected cultures treated or not with IPS were submitted to phenol/chloroform extraction followed by polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis. The amount of radioactivity in viral RNA eluted from the gel strips was determined. Inhibition of viral RNA synthesis was highest at the IPS concentration of 1,000 micrograms/ml at 72 h after infection, corresponding to 78% inhibition. Although the results obtained in vitro suggest that IPS may be useful for the treatment of rotavirus infection, an in vivo demonstration of its efficacy is needed.

I hate to throw this in, but TPN is okay very short term. But it can

really mess the child up over a long haul. For one the infant will

not want to eat by mouth. All the things taken for granted, like the

normal sucking that an infant does, will be lost. And will need to

have to parents stimulate the infant, doing oral motor exercises.

They really need to get to a DR to treat this child, Bru in Boston,or

Krigsman - NY and Austin.

I thought the Rotovirus had been pulled off the market - -infant

death?

At the NAA conference this weekend Dr. Ayoub listed TPN as containing aluminum.

You

might want to check to see if there is an aluminum-free alternative.

Best,
