Aasa has sent you the following story:I don't know where the author of this piece has been "digging" for his/her information about vaccine safety, but I am sure it is not where most of us have found any of our information. How can this person not come up with anything about the dangers of thimerosal? Incredible!

Are shots always on target?

I've spent the past week with my brain in a tailspin -- and it all began with a simple enough decision: whether or not to give my 3-year-old son Will a flu shot this season.A month ago, I'd watched my screaming 2-month-old get six vaccinations over the course of several seconds and then run a 101-degree fever for a couple of days. Of course it was the typical, predictable side effect of vaccinations, but when you're a fretting mom, it gives you pause. Then a friend from college recommended a book to me: Cave's "What Your Doctor May Not Tell You About Children's Vaccinations." There are conspiracy theorists out there who will tell you that no vaccine has ever eradicated a dangerous disease; they just came on the scene the same time that the disease was making its exit due to improved sanitation and the like. I don't buy it, and Cave is not in this don't-give-any-vaccines camp, which in my mind gives her at least a little potential credibility.
