Thank you, to whoever it was who posted the new YouTube link to Dr. Shorter's interview with Dr. Maurice Hilleman. It would take me forever to backtrack through my email to find who posted the new link, after Leonard Horowitz's YouTube video was removed. Anyway, yesterday, I decided to email Dr. Shorter (who I found out is alive and well, and still a professor at the University of Toronto, a few mere blocks from where I work) to find out if the video was "authentic", after someone on another list group wondered whether the video had been "doctored" (probably no pun intended on her part). I have attached his reply (although it came via a 3rd party): "Yes, quite authentic, although heavily edited." I have placed a hold on a copy (I think the only copy) of Dr. Shorter's book, The Health Century, with the public library system in Toronto, and look forward to

reading about the many interviews he conducted with various researchers and industry representatives: http://www.nlm.nih.gov/hmd/manuscripts/ead/shorter.html Aasa Note: forwarded message attached.

In case you didn't receive this - I'm never sure, with the Professor's

BlackBerry.
