since she is 18 and an adult-have her sign her own exemption form. My daughter had the MMR for college entrance some years back---had a baby a year after-he has autism-you should check out some of Dr. Yazbak's writings on this. Her physician has written a note stating that having the MMR at 11months and 2 weeks is sufficient coverage.Well the school decided to call the CDC and I want to know what datathey are using to come to the decision that my perfectly healthydaughter needs another MMR vaccine. Of course, we will test titresinstead but this will take time and she will have to wait to registerand get the last pick of classes/schedules. This is completely unfairto her.The school was very nice and said she could come up and get the shotand she could register. Bullshit.Does anyone have any links to CDC standards for college registrations?thanks so much. __________________________________________________

Our state only allows religious exemptions and while she is not

opposed to signing a religious exemption - I don't think she should

have to sign one because a vaccine was given 2 weeks early when she

was one year of age.

I just signed a vaccine exemption form at the health center here at the university in California when I went back to school. They wanted all my vacs records and a meningicoccal, mmr and dpt booster. Not available for viewing. The exemption was fine.

How about taking in a copy of the new IOM reccomendations that they look at environmental factors ( including vaccines) as a cause of autism?. you can argue if it can cause autism in young kids it is possible it can cause other horrors in older kids.

Ask them to sign something that says they will accept responsibility if she has any medical issues as a result of those vaxs.

It isn't about the CDC at all,

Every state has exemptions and some apply to colleges/universities. Choose

schools very carefully based on this.

Some info here

http://www.vaclib.org/exemption.htm

these pages are a bit confusing - find your state and click on that and

then look for college/university info/laws

and can google on +exemptions+vaccine+college+ (the name of your state)

or sometimes google on ++exemptions+vaccine+ (the name of the college)

get creative with your googling. If you have trouble, email me.

Again, it depends on the state - don't just take the college's word for it

that they are required

What about the foreign students who come here to go to college. Are

they required to have all these vaccines?

They should be able to take the same state exemptions.

But those wanting green cards are required to take a huge number -

exemptions are hard to get there
