Guest guest
I had staph infection for 3 years before I started college. I went to 7 different Doctor’s, the 1st 5 were idiots since I told them I had staff and they said, no you don’t. Finally by the 6th and 7th Dr.s they understood I had it on my skin instead of in my blood. No antibiotic worked to get rid of it completely, it just kept coming back. But the last 2 Dr.s recommended I scrub my body with Hibbie cleanse. Which does not need a prescription but it is sold behind the pharmacy counter. It’s what some surgeons use to scrub in before surgery. Hibbie cleanse plus the antibiotic finally got rid of it. And just in time because the last time I had it there were 6 on my leg and I almost lost my leg. So just in case anyone was wondering what might help. It is most painful than giving birth so I just wanted to pass on what worked for me. My school district just sent out the warning that one child has it. – PS , needs a whole body inside out makeover!! Guest guest
Yes, extremely scary when they tell you, when you are so young, that you might loose your leg. You’re poor nephew!! How old was he? I wouldn’t wish that pain on anyone. Nor the embarrassment from a teenager’s perspective. I knew it was staph because my friend took too many Nodos when we were 15yrs and she caught staph from the hospital when they were giving her activated charcoal and then I caught it from her. That’s when I 1st realized how clueless Dr.s were, because I knew what I had and they kept denying that I did. Geniuses! - From: EOHarm [mailto:EOHarm ] On Behalf Of King Sent: Wednesday, November 07, 2007 12:49 PM EOHarm Subject: Re: Gerberding on CSPAN now MRSA part 2 How awful! I'm glad that you survived! My nephew had it three years ago. He was in the ICU for a week, then had a port inserted and was on IV antibiotics for three months. We almost lost him. They thought that it started through a wound playing soccer. It spread throughout his body. Really scary stuff! > > I had staph infection for 3 years before I started college. Guest guest
Each infection (I had more than I could count over the 3 years) comes in the form of a boil. Gets into areas where hair grows or you have an open wound. The boils have a hard, raised outer circle, skin can be red and white and peaks to a head, usually black and/or white. Yes, I know sounds disgusting and they look even worse. They can spread very easily if not treated properly. I wouldn’t get a vaccine for it if you held a gun to my head. I can just imagine the immune complications and reactions that would occur with such a vaccine. - From: EOHarm [mailto:EOHarm ] On Behalf Of anacat_11 Sent: Wednesday, November 07, 2007 1:38 PM EOHarm Subject: Re: Gerberding on CSPAN now MRSA part 2 For three years? Thankfully you're alive and whole. What an ordeal. And even so, I assume you're among the people who think the idea of a MRSA vaccine is idiotic. Do you know where you got it and how did it manifest, for those of us who don't know a thing about it or what to look for? > > > > Unbelievable. Here we go. Guest guest
I was a teenager and didn’t know there were different strains and they never specified (this was 20 years ago). But mine was resistant to antibiotics for a long time but I did not have it in my blood, only living on my skin. It was extremely contagious because my friend gave it to me within days and I then quickly gave it to my sister. My friend had it for almost a year, my sister had it for something like 2 years until they took her tonsils out and they were full of the staph. - From: EOHarm [mailto:EOHarm ] On Behalf Of Maurine Meleck Sent: Wednesday, November 07, 2007 3:12 PM EOHarm Subject: Re: Re: Gerberding on CSPAN now MRSA part 2 are you all saying it was the MRSA staph infection you all had? Guest guest
was he playing the soccer on artificial turf? We are having a major debate in our school district over whether to install natural grass or turf> I heard that MRSA infections are more common on artificial turf, anyone know anything about it? thanks Ange Re: Gerberding on CSPAN now MRSA part 2 How awful! Guest guest
That probably moved in after they vaccinated her for some minor childhood infection. ah the interconnected web of life!!! Guest guest
As far as the artifical turf thing -- this brings to mind another comparison..... mold. In its pure form, growing in a forest somewhere -- it is harmless. It is when it starts growing on an artifical surface like drywall -- that it turns toxic = staccybatrus (sp?).How are they going to disinfect artifical turf -- spray it with bleach every day??? That's a lot of bleach. lol Not so funny when you think of the respiratory problems using bleach for this staph problem will cause. There's a new epidemic!Roxanacat_11 <anacat_11@...> wrote: Who needs the outgassing. They can get that indoors. > > > > > > > > Unbelievable. Here we go.
