It was a lovely ride, but I guess it had to end sooner or later.

Yesterday, started his first fever since he began taking

cimetidine.

All yesterday I managed to convince myself that it was a virus.

He was supposed to be in his schools winter concert this morning. (he

fevered last during last years concert as well)

He had that all too familiar look around his eyes.

The more thought I gave it, the more it seemed like a fever " episode " .

At my husbands urging, I gave him a dose of prednisone, hoping he may feel

up to participating in the concert.

Within a few hours the fever was gone, but seemed so withdrawn and

sad. I let him make the decision about

today's concert. He decided to go see the other kids perform, but not

participate himself.

Hopefully as the day goes on he'll feel more like himself.

Now I am left wondering if this break was as a result of the cimetidine or

a mere coincidence.

He has had breaks lasting 3-4 months, but never this long.

Does anyone know whether the dosage of cimetidine needs to adjusted as

they get older.

I feel blind sided - I definitely didn't see this coming. My youngest

doesn't fever - but recently has begun experiencing some

of the other oddities that has had - random hives, hands turning

red for several hours, legs covered with little bruises.

I took great comfort in the thought that if she started fevering we'd know

what to do. But maybe we don't.
