Hi,

I have been a member, reading all the information, my son started

getting fevers when he was 3 years old and would have them every 2

and a half weeks, regularly starting last February. Very high fevers

up to 104 and 105, we have ended up at the hospital, and have had

many blood test run by our pediatrician to the point my son hates

getting in the elevator to go to the lab. The first time he ran the

fever he had a few small mouth sores, but that was the only time. He

also had an enlarged spleen, which hasn't happened with him since.

They thought it might be mononucleosis but the longer test came back

negative. From then on every 2 and a half weeks, he usually

complains of a stomach ache and leg aches. It goes up quickly which

results in chills some of the time. From June on the fevers switched

to once a month instead of biweekly. He almost always starts running

the fever at night, but we usually can tell ahead, just wants to

cuddle, complains of being tired, etc. He also doesn't sleep well,

groans in his sleep, tosses and turns, when the fever starts. We can

control the fever by rotating the motrin and tylenol every three

hours. Our pediatrician always says its a virus, or thinks its strep

throat (which it never is), he said he had talked to an infectious

disease doctor and didn't come up with anything, so it was wonderful

to happen upon this website. We live in Sonoma County, CA., northern

California and would love to find a doctor that deals with this

somewhere near us if anyone knows of someone.

Thank you,

Robin
