Guest guest
Hello everyone. Carina is sick with what seems to be a normal virus- cold, couch, sore throat and fever. I tend to try to hold off using tylenol/motrin unless she acts really uncomfortable. Yet I always wonder what's best. Is the fever serving a purpose- it it helping to fight an infection? And when she has her periodic fevers and there is not an infection, do the fevers serve a purpose then? Is it best to keep the child as fever free as possible or is it better to let their bodies fever some? A few times when I really limited the tylenol and motrin, (and used a lot of baths!) her fever cycles ended quicker. Of course this may have been a coincidence. Carina's doctor has told me that fever won't harm her, unless it's really high like 108, which thankfully we've not come close to experiencing this. Of course, I wish I knew what was best for her. Any thoughts on this would be appreciated. Sincerely, Carmela Mom to Carina 3 3/
