Guest guest
, I'm in sville! We are seeing Dr. Cofer (ENT) at Vanderbilt tomorrow at 9:30am. Discussing having my daughters tonsils/adnoids removed. She () started fevering Jan '06, had tubes put in her ears in June, diagnosed with in August. We saw an ID doctor at Vanderbilt which did not impress me. He refused to do any further testing. Gave us the brush off. Now the pediatrician is recommending the T & A. I'm hoping the ENT doctors at Vanderbilt have some knowledge about . Any advice???? Karri (-almost 2) Ssearcy69@... wrote: Not completely in your area-but Nashville! Guest guest
Back from the ENT at Vanderbilt. is scheduled for a T & A Feb. 1, '07. The doctor said there is an 80% chance that she could go into remission from the after the surgery. We'll give it a shot. At this point, I think the T & A is better than nothing. If the fevers do return after the surgery, then I will request to see Dr. & try that road again. What has Dr. done for you? Has she done any other testing besides the normal ones? Guest guest
Peggy, My daughter goes to UT Medical Group in Memphis at the Lebonheur Children's Medical Center. The doctor we see is Dr. Myers. Originally there was another doctor their that was very familiar with the disorders but he has since left. Dr. Myers attend medical school with Dr. Barron at NIH. We live several hours from Memphis. We are actually closer to Nashville but I was not impressed with the doctors at Vanderbilt. We use to go to Vanderbilt and seen Dr. Lawton. However, he was quite hateful and when I inquired about the possibility that Hannah might have one of the other fever syndromes he treated me like I was stupid (NIH is treating her for HIDS). He actually asked me why I kept coming back to him since was a benign condition. He told me I just had to stop worrying about and learn to accept it since she would probably outgrow it. I guess I was suppose to overlook the fact that my childs legs were swelling to the point she didn't want to walk and that her fevers were lasting 28 days instead of the normal 3-4 in . That being said we have been treated well at UT Medical Group and since Dr. Barron knows Dr. Myers I feel more comfortable. If you are interested the number is 901-448-2015.
