Guest guest
, My doctor also said Cade's tonsils were normal. But when I had them removed the ENT told me they had craters that were huge in them and they were Chronic. No tonsils now and no fever. Cross fingers. One thing about Cade is that his fevers never got above 103.7. PHAPA. My son is 6 and has had regular fevers every month since June of 2006. I really never noticed them to be really regular until December 2006 when he was missing at least 3days of kindergarten since Sept each month. His fevers are around 102 degrees, lasting 3 days with no other symptoms. I was told to keep a diary of all other signs and symptoms. He complains of headaches and not feeling well frequently therefore he has had a CT scan of head and sinuses and two blood draws when he is ill. Everything ok. The next step is getting another blood test when NOT ill to see where the inflammation levels are, since they were high as they should be when ill. We will be seeing this doctor and another specialist in April for a Follow-up. When I was a child Age 5-7 , I had fevers every month, no other symptom, for over two years. My mother took me to one doctor after another, with each one saying they can cure me with antibiotics. I have the tetracycline stain on my teeth to prove this. Finally my mom insisted my tonsils come out, even though they were normal. I was fine thereafter. My sons tonsils are normal as well and I was told taking out the tonsils was a last resort. That is my story thus far. Dean North Ridgeville, Ohio --------------------------------- Finding fabulous fares is fun. My daughter lives in Bexley(Columbus). I live in Dayton. I just started reading messages,as I am new to this group as well(just joined yesterday). I noticed yours and noted that you expressed a degree of confidence in your doctor. My daughters mother has not been very happy with the results she has been getting from the specialist in columbus. I would be interested in hearing about any progress your son is having in regard to your doctors approach to his condition. I can't tell you much myself that you probably don't already know; Prednisone helped with the symptoms, when given at the full dosage right at onset. But it also seemed to increase frequency, as if it caused it to " re-set " or something. The whole thing is rather annoying in it's obscure nature as to it's cause. Hope things go well. Guest guest
My daughter is 4. The ID doctor suspects , however, the intensity of her episodes vary greatly. For the past 1-2 months her voice sounds hoarse as if something is in her throat. Every time we look at her throat (tonsils and surrounding area) it is swollen. And it looks like to me her tonsils are not smooth. All her IG blood work is fine and had " mono " positive for Epstein Barr virus back in Sept-Oct 06. I believe the condition of her tonsils make her prone to easily get throat infections creating white pus on her throat when she does come down with a fever. The fevers usually end with a sore in her mouth. The fever temp for one month could reach 103 another month is was about 101. Any thoughts about the throat and if this is actually ? Guest guest
, WHo are you seeing at akron childrens? We just moved form Canton Ohio to Virginia in January ..anyway.. we were seeing Dr Congini (spelling may be wrong) and his partner Dr Bower.... Dr. Congini may be a little over bearing but he was straight forward and to the point with us.. Dr Bower was much more calm and explained things smoohter. But i had a good experiance with the I.D. office there, they were always helpfull, and i could call them at anytime for info or any concerns I had. And everything they told me has been backed up by things others on this board have wrote about, and they explained more about the genetics..... so i never had the feeling that either doc did not have a good understanding of . Hope this helps Beth > > > Hello, > > My name is and my son just visited a > > specialist at the Cleveland Clinic that has a strong > > background in period fevers. PHAPA.
