Dear group members,

It was before three weeks or so , I asked experiences of families about

tonsillectomy. I got pretty good replies. I would like to thank you first of

all. Our daughter, Sude, 3 ½ years old, had the surgery on 29th of

December 2006. It was a successfull surgery. If she hadn't got the surgery

she would have got fever on 6th of Jan. 2007 but she didn't get fever. Now

she is very well and totally recovered. We hope and expect to have fevers

only due to cold or so, not periodic fevers. I wanted to inform you.

Hi Everyone,

I've finally got a chance to update everyone on 's tonsillectomy

on Monday. Everything went really well - better than I ever

thought. Children's Hospital Boston was very busy Monday so her

11:15 surgery didn't actually get started until about 1:00. She was

done in less than an hour but the recovery room was too crowded to

accept patients from the OR so she basically recovered in the OR. I

was able to go in to see her about 2:30 and found her sitting up in

bed actually chatting with the nurses! I couldn't believe that she

could talk - I didn't think it was possible!

Instead of spending the night in the hospital (which would have been

in the recovery room as there were no beds) we headed home Monday

night and she spent the night in her own bed! I figured even with

waking her up in the middle of the night to give her the pain

medicine, she probably slept better at home.

Since then she's been doing really well - eating lots of ice cream

and drinking lots of water. She's even decided that jello is pretty

good. Thanks to everyone for all your thoughts and prayers. I'll

keep you posted on her recovery as it goes on.
