I just searched the archives for the recommended canker sore recipe's... Hope it

helps

Fran

This is the recipe I found from this site from 03-03-04.

5cc maalox

5cc benadryl

5cc viscous lidocaine (2%)

Our pediatrician does 1 part viscous lidocaine. The first time I had it

made thru Walgreens and since

it's a combo medicine, our insurance doesn't cover the cost, which was

$17.59. Then I thru it away

when I emptied out my frigerator after the hurricane. When I had it made up

again, and got another

prescription from our pediatrician, I brought it to Wal-mart. They have a

name for it called

'Ron's Run' 2:2:1, it only cost approx. $4.00, I can't find the receipt at

this time.

Recently the dentist prescribed Triamcinolone Acetonide, dental paste .1%,

but my daughter does not

like it. She normally uses Baby Orajel or the above mixture. The first

time she used it as a mouthwash

and she won't ever do that again, the Q-tip swab is the way to go.

Here are more recipes:

" We use a combination of Peridex (oral antibiotic) (green in color) and

Decadron ( anti-inflammatory) (red in color) to treat these mouth ulcers. We

only dip a cotton q-tip in the peridex first, then apply over the sore and

then the decadron (again using only a q-tip). I find that if I treat them

immediately when I first feel them that they go away immediately, if I wait

a day then they still last a couple of days, but they never get any bigger or

get to the painful stage. "

and another recipe from Fran called " Magic Mouthwash " :

" 1.. Liquid Combination

2.. Swish and spit 5 ml no more often than every 4 hours

3.. Components

1.. Viscous Lidocaine (1 part)

2.. Maalox (1 part)

3.. Benadryl (1 part)

OR

1.. Solid Combination

2.. Apply small amount to lesion

3.. Components

1.. Benadryl 30 mg

2.. Mylanta 60 ml

3.. Carafate 4 gram "
