Guest guest
During 3 fever episodes (that the doctors noticed, anyway), Spencer had an enlarged spleen. They did bloodwork, thinking it was mono- tests were negative. Has anybody else had the same symptom? __________________________________________________
Guest guest
Becky, My son Nicolas has had that happen a few times along with the enlarged lymph glands in the abdomin. It is very frustating and hard to watch our children go through this and not get no answers. my son Nicolas has been having more and more attacks that are lasting longer, and longer each time and the more severe each time as well. We have been to the NIH and have them stumped to what is the underlying issue. For now they are treating me for the FMF with colchine which helps to an extent, and Nicolas with singlair and cimetidine, which neither so far is helping Nicolas. So right now its a waiting game and treating him with prednisone when he has attacks it seems to help him more then anything at this point. I hope your son well, just stay on top of it. I have to with Nicolas and he started having chest pains which I kept asking if he had gi issues and the doctors kept saying no well I through a fit and they did an upper gi barium study and we found he is reflaxing, we know are kids more then anyone so stay on top of things. Guest guest
My daughter's spleen would become enlarged because she also has spherocytosis. The doctors assumed all symptoms were related to one illness but they were not and she has two seperate things wrong with her.
