Guest guest
I am sorry to hear about your daughter. I know that sleepless nights are brutal. In my experience, if there is a bug " going around " my daughter (also two) will get a fever with it. It seems that it brings on an episode, or something like it. The bug symptoms are less severe maybe then in my others kids but it always has a fever in her that is not what my other kids had. Just thought I would let you know how it is here! Good luck! Guest guest
Hi It really sounds like a virus possibly combined with a fever episode. Guest guest
Hi, this happened to my son (3 years old) after his first Prednisone dose. He got diarrhea and vomiting for several days after the Prednisone during an otherwise normal fever attack. As it turned out he tested positive for salmonella. It was all kind of odd, but the suspicion is he was a salmonella carrier without symptoms and the Prednisone somehow irritated the salmonella which had not bothered him before. It's all a guess at this point though, who knows what coincidences may have been involved. Regardless, it was a complication of something else in addition to the Prednisone, so it wasn't a direct reaction to the Prednisone itself. He was tested for the salmonella over a few months and now finally it is cleared up. We plan to try Prednisone again during his next normal fever attack since we believe it didn't directly cause it. Good luck to you. It was definitely really really tough. Keri Gerber, mom to , 3, preliminary diagnosis Austin, TX
