Thanks for the support, Marisa, also thanks to Irma, a, and for

responding! I'd pretty much come to this conclusion over the last few days. I

hate to keep removing , so I just have to be extra vigilent and make sure

when she is next to Nicolas, I am right

there to stop his arm when it reaches for her. Kind of sad, since sometimes he

just wants to give her a hug... I can't wait for to grow up a little

more so she won't be quite as vulnerable -- then I can teach her appropriate

behavior towards him.

had an interesting observation with her son and daughter -- that her son

was pushing the baby for the sensory feeling of watching her fall. I think

Nicolas does that sometimes, too, and he also likes my reaction -- picking up

the baby, and having Nicolas sign " I'm sorry "

and hug her. It's becoming a pattern -- and we all know what that means. So,

the behavior interventionist and I are targeting it -- I'm going to change my

reaction when (if) it happens. If he pushes her, I'll pick her up and take her

in another room without acknowledging

Nicolas. After I've consoled her (out of his sight), I'll bring her back in the

room. Then Nicolas will need to sign " I'm sorry " , *not* hug her (he likes that

too much), and give her one of his special toys to " make her feel better " . Then

I'll act as her bodyguard to keep

Nicolas from taking the toy back. After a couple of minutes, he can play with

us again. , I don't know if that will help in your situation -- heck, I

don't know if it's going to help us! But, it's worth a shot...

Hey Carole,

Maddie shoved her little cousin last summer and it was very upsetting to

me. I had never seen her do that, but we all could tell she did it to see

Casey fall. Maddie loves to watch things fall, so why should babies be any

different, I guess. It made us realize that we have to be very careful

(having no kids younger than Maddie made us a little bit oblivous to that).

However, you have to be extra diligent since it's your baby!!!! Your plan

sounds like a good one to me. Let us know if it works and what results you

see, K???

This is part 2 of my earlier post. I apologize that my post sounded so

negative. I meant to delete the last line where I was whining but aol cut me

off so when I went back on line I hit " send " before I deleted that or signed

my name. Anyway, thanks for the info that some of the behaviors could be

sensory related because I had been beating myself up thinking that I raised a

" bad " child who was pushing his baby brother just to hurt him. Also, ny

was doing this behavior while we were seeing the developmental neurologist

and the dr. stated he thought ny was just doing it more for " something to

do " rather than maliciously.
