Guest guest
Another question for you folks. The IEP team thought a trycycle for a Kindergartener was inappropriate. What do you make of this? But they think a stationary bike is ok? I don't get it? They do have a trike with modifications just the right size. Hmmmm. Guest guest
My opinion on this , would be the trike , especially if its equipped with the velcro straps and a long handle on the back for an adult to help push and guide on turning . If the stationary bike was suggested maybe they would like to see if this will help with strenghting her muscles , maybe once they see her benefitting out of it, then she could use the trike ? Did they even mentioning following these steps ? I do remember always starting out with a trike at Rochelle's age , every city , school , private schools, have always suggested it . I even bought one and donated to a private school , just so that any child would get some good use out of it for their motor skills . Irma, 13,DS/ASD. > Another question for you folks. Guest guest
thst rediculous, a trike would be more appropriate because it would also be used in life as a life type of skill, i mean i hate to face it but im pretty sure nathan will most likely be unable to drive a vehicle like a car but who knows he may surprise us, but until then its best to work on trike/bicycle skills and safety, not only can they use this for work and activities but also great source of exercise, which is a constant factor for everyone especially our kids and their often weight issues and muscle tone etc. shawna. ===== shawna __________________________________________________
