Hi Irma,

Home for a day and a half. The sitter was fine!!!! I managed to get through

this fair without the cell to call home,in a dead area and no pay

phone, yikes. We meet with the teacher again tomarrow in school. I am going to

have Zeb bring me to his new classroom and see if he remembers the way down

the hall.

Hi Irma,

Thanks for the words of wisdom for the neurologist! I was actually told that

on the last visit but I insisted but not with those words. She (DR) agreed to

review his records from school etc. I am trying to get everything together

that I can find. Zeb came home with a progress report from school on friday

that really got my dander up. It has a column for completed homework and it

was checked needs improvement with a comment inconsistant, but when

completed, done well with modifications. The school very seldom sends any

homework home and I ask daily. The homework that we do get on occasion is what

the general classroom is doing and I have to do all the modifications. I was

ripped as I felt that reflected parental neglect.I was not going to have that

stay on his permanent record! I managed to get a meeting set up and have it

removed but again my work day was shot. I am grateful for a very sympathic

principal that was appauled at her lack of judgement. After having this

dialog with the special ed teacher on her modifying work we now were sent

home tonight the vocabulary words as follows:

department,audience,expression,obeys,commands,accident. Does anyone have a

brick wall I can barrow for my head?

Irma, I'm not leaving the list. Actually I just want to be done with all the

testing, evaluating etc....Just like Loriann said, just have some answers of

what's going on. In my heart, nothing will change but I see some IEP trouble

ahead. My Professionals butting heads with the school Professionals and then

implementing anything new. Keeping everyone on their toes because everyone is

understaffed or overworked or just plain doesn't agree. You have been quite

an encouragement. It's a gift.

Hi Irma,

What great progress for ! I am so pleased the new year has started so

well for him. Zeb went back to school this week and had the best week ever.

The principal called yesterday very upset because his aide quit. He found a

fulltime job with benefits. I am surprised he stayed this long and it was

wonderful while it lasted. I haven't told Zeb yet and am afraid it will panic

him all weekend so I will wait. I am worried though with a new replacement. I

hope will be as successful with school when he returns.

Hi Irma,

I know for me this group is a life line. I often get very upset at some of

the posts and so excited about the great things that happen. Everyone gives

me hope but also reminds me that I still need to be vigilent. The wealth of

knowledge, expertise and experience amazes me daily. Everyone keeps me so

well grounded.

Hi Irma,

I had surgery in november. The dr told me it would be a day surgery and I

would be fine in a week. It certainly turned out to be a long dayLOL all week

in the hospital and the recovery was maybe you'll start to feel better in 3

mos. but sometimes it takes up to a year. You better be prepared just in

case!!

Hi Irma,

Before I forget, how is your back and what the scoop with your surgery? I

know every mom that has a child with a disability has their battles, some

worse than others. We all reach are limits and think we can't go on but we

know that isn't possible. We pull ourselves together again for the next set

of problems. Our magic wand is this group. The encouragement, suggestions and

past experiences brings us all to realize that we have a common bond. We are

not alone anymore and we can do this together. I keep telling myself just one

more time but in reality I know it will be many times. Thanks for the support.

Hi Irma,

I figured you would realize it was me, the whiner. I have the computer near

the laundry room too. It can't wait to do laundry so I can gab with everyone.

Hi Irma,

Speaking of natural bonds, I was thinking about you as I was doing laundry.

LOL The washer died last week and I just bought one of those front loaders,

just the best. I just thought I would pass that along seeing that we write as

we wash. He,He

Hi Irma,

I guess we are all on the run lately. How is your back and are you still

working? I hope 's accidents are only temporary. He was doing so well.

How is the kitty?

Hi Irma,

I can certainly relate to all your feelings. I know how I dwell on all the

problems with Zeb. It is so hard to just put it away for awhile and do what

you have to do. I know how an outside job can provide you with such

diversions. I do think your boss knew how much he had to loose by accepting

your resignation. Few employees put their heart and soul into a job. I'm

sorry to hear that kitty isn't a part of your family. Each time one of my

kids brought home a pet the novelty ended after a few short weeks and I had

the caretaker job. We are pet free for that very reason. I'm very happy to

hear that your back is finally responding to the surgery and you are doing

well.

Hi Irma,

I hate to even think of what lies ahead for me in the sexual arena with Zeb.

It's good that you were able to go to a workshop on this and get some good

advice. Zeb is still young and we haven't had an incidents other than

touching silky shirts.
