Guest guest
I've gotten the stares in public bathrooms. I just ignore them, and (secretly) hope makes a comment about them loud enough for them to hear. Usually when we have to go to the bathroom is when he's acting up the most and people realize he's " special needs. " But in today's society, I probably will be taking in with me when he's 7 or 8 ( which is close to what is developmentally). Guest guest
ME TOO!!!!!!! I take in the men's room and just ask the men to wait outside. They always understand. Seems to me that women are more offended than men. I have never had a problem YET!!! Guest guest
oh judy i think i would definately practice changing him while he stands, that is the only way i could ever get nathan changed in a public bathroom, usually if one is available we will use the handicapped one(more room) , but nathan even shuts the door and locks it nowadays. I would just help him with his pants down, rip the pull-up on the sides so slips off easily, have nathan go and then sit down on potty to try and bm(usually what his acidents were) then i would remove his pants and slip on a new pull up and his pants again while he is sitting on toilet up to his knees probably, then if he is done we stand up get wiped clean, and just have to pull up the pullup and pants, set to go. shawna Re: Re: wipes? / public bathrooms In a message dated 8/22/01 9:00:36 PM EST, ACER929@... writes: << " But in today's society, I probably will be taking in with me when he's 7 or 8 ( which is close to what is developmentally Hi, My is 10 and i still take him in the women's bathroom with me, if he is 12 15 or 30 , ill still take him in, if they dont like it OH WELL... Guest guest
Now that I think of it, the arena that's in Dallas I think, they have family bathrooms, and changing tables in both the men's and the woman's bathroom. __________________________________________________

He really makes me crazy sometimes. But when we were in Orlando at all the parks, I took him in the bathroom with me. It also seems like more and more places have a " family " bathroom which I think is great! I once barged right into the " handicapped " stall in the men's room thinking Ted was in that one. We usually choose that stall so I thought he was in there. Well, there was a man sitting there! OMG why didn't he lock the stall door! It was one of those hard days out! Guest guest
Gail, I love the image of you surprising some stranger in the stall. Ian won't let me near the bathroom with him either, and God help me if I suggested to him that he come with me to the women's room. He'd fight that with all he has. That didn't stop him, however, from sitting outside the ladies' room at 's today, insisting that I have a very loud conversation with him while I was...ahem...inside.
