Yeah, I keep designing trailers and soundtracks for the movie in my

head and casting it. Josh Lucas as Mark Blaxill. Emma as

Theresa Binstock. Hank Azaria or Tony Shaloub as Albert Enyati.

DeMunn or Austin Pendleton as Val Aposhian. Root as

Mark Geier. And of course, Glenn Close as Gerberding.

That's as far as I got.

Oh my...Josh Lucas is my favorite actor. That would be an awesome

cast pick.

Yes, there's something tremendously sympathetic about Josh Lucas and

he has a surprising gravity. I saw him in a tragic indie with a sort

of documentary style realism playing Penn's brother. He quietly

condemns some awful thing that Penn's character is doing and it sent

chills. Made up for that horrible " Sweet Home Alabama " .

I think Root would nail Mark Geier. Herman

(remember " Office Space " ?)would be great as Geier. But who

would play Lenny?

Maybe that gravity was his piercing blue eyes.

<grin> I thought he was wonderful in Sweet Home Alabama.

Who would play Lenny? Nicolas Cage?

Lucus could look like a toad and still be great.

The beautiful Kerry Condon as the beautiful Liz Birt? Ann

Moss as Lyn Redwood?

I think Kim would be happy if Clooney were in the film

somehow. Would he play Dan Burton or Lenny?

Actually, Hopkins would be a great Mark Geier too. He can do

anything. Even Lenny. Leech as J.B. Handley?

I'm enjoying this way too much. I've got to stop.

I think Wallace (played Vizzini in The Princess Bride... and does a lot of

voice over

work... like in Toy Story) would make a great Mark Geier. He has a slight

resemblance...

Good casting! can play genius and be funny, it's true. But who

would play then? Has to be a Mini-me of Mark.

Gwyneth Paltrow as Liz Birt?

isn't in the movie. It's about the story of Evidence of Harm, how

the parents found out about the mercury and pursued the science and

politics. Not about how he wrote the book. He told us that a while

ago. Alas, no handsome in the movie!

Oh, I meant Geier. But shucks, it's a shame that Kirby can't be

in the film. Couldn't Bill Paxton (or some good looking country music

star who can act whose name escapes me) play Kirby as a kind of

off-stage narrator in a fedora?

I've heard Lyn Redwood say she wants to be played by Annette Benning.

But I say Debra Winger...

movie about autism and mercury.

Rosie O'Donnell in drag. Or even Danny DiVito. They could then call

it " Get Shorty II " , and end up leaving my character out of it

altogether, like the original. I'm only mentioned in passing in

Evidence of Harm, the book. Last I heard, the movie has been placed on

the shelf for the time being.

I promised I'd stop fantasy casting but I can't. It's too fun to get

carried away. Better than thinking about money.

Frances McDormand? She doesn't seem to age. Benning or Winger would

have been a dream, but about fifteen years ago, right? Lyn was so

young when the story started and the film won't get made for a few

more years. Those actresses will be well over fifty! The sad thing

is that there's a lack of American actresses of the magnitude of

Benning and Winger in the younger agegroups, who seem to all be

perpetual girls right now, not women, unless they're European or

South American. But that's mostly the style now: they play teens

until thirty-five. There are a lot of TV actresses who are

entertaining but I don't have faith that they have the range for

film, especially not the story of the twenty-first century. Not a

Lange or a Sarandon among the whole lot. So maybe

Brit? They seem to pick up the American accent in a week. That or

unknowns?

I'm taking this way, way too seriously. I need that film to come

out.

I met Albert Enayati in person at my first Autism support group meeting after getting the diagnosis on my son. If it were up to me I would have him play himself in the movie. He is very passionate. I remember thinking at that meeting that this scene would make a great movie. Too bad its real life for us.

Does anyone know why it's been put on the back burner when kids are

dying and getting injured every day? Hey, all those timid investors

can funnel their money through me and I'll take pharma's wrath for

backing the film.

I can't think of a good person to portray Geier. I'm sure It's so much

easier when you

have a stack of head shots from a talent/casting agency to pour through...

Last I recall said the production company was having

difficulty finding a director. If one wasn’t found the movie could be

shelved.
