In addition, the argument that Neubrander has seen improvement from b12 in 90% patients, which you translate to mean should help 90% ASD kids is bad science, selection bias of the study group being a big one, as well as the lack of a control group receiving a placebo. Guest guest
Becky, While 90+% of Neubrander's patients saw improvement from MB-12, your placebo study would have wasted a lot of people's time when they could have had improvement. A control group would have had no effect on Neubrander's patients who realized improvement. Your welcome to wait for all the research you like. I prefer to take what we already know and use it now while my kid's young enough to benefit from it. I think overcomplicating the matter and delaying treatment availability for all is more harmful than simplifying what we already know...thimerosal caused the epidemic. I said it's responsible for most autism, not all. NAAR and Bob say it's not responsible for any autism. So, I won't get off his back or anyone else's back who wants to publicize false information. If Marty has a link to decision makers at AS, I hope he takes something from all of this and brings it to their attention. On the other hand, I'm not politically naive enough to think that anything I have to say is going to change what Bob does unless I can grease his palm with more money than Pharma already has. So, talking to Marty is just spitting into the wind anyhow. Why bother. > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Kim and others from my reliable sources I am > > told > > > > that > > > > > > there > > > > > > > > > > are no > > > > > > > > > > > > plans > > > > > > > > > > > > > for any announcement of a new head of > > > environmental > > > > > > > > research. As a former Trustee of NAAR, I have no problem being tainted for life in your eyes. I am proud of what I tried to accomplish back in those days. Whether or not you talk to me is irrelevant as to what AS does or does not do. , I tried dot be respectful to you but apparently a civil discourse in not in the cards for us. Guest guest
I realize Lenny had asked for the thread to stop, but since it continued civilly, I would like to respectfully reply, since my intentions were misrepresented. I would never ever recommended a family ‘wait for the research’ to try biomed interventions such as B12 shots, diet, targeted supplements, chelation etc. Families can do their own research, try things like diet, CLO, priobiotic that they can do on their own and work with a DAN or other biomed friendly doc to do the labs, and treat based on the lab results. I certainly didn’t wait for my son, so I’m not sure how got that impression by my post. I get a lot of calls/referrals from local parents, and always tell them what we did, what helped, and still suggest they try what we didn’t find helpful because other parents have had success. I am in Dr. Jepson’s camp, I think Thimerosal and other mercury exposure is a piece of the etiology of autism, not the sole cause as he stated in his book. Dr. Wakefield made a point at one of the conferences that there are probably several ‘autisms’ based on the various causes for different subtypes of kids. This has always stuck in my head and this is why we need the research, not just anecdotes. We will never get any credibility, and fewer parents will have access to biomed treatments because they are not given the credibility and therefore not tried. If B12 shots help even 30% of kids with autism, that is certainly worthy of trying on every ASD kids. Wouldn’t it be nice if the approach was embraced by mainstream medicine, and our local peds would just write the script for a three month trial for all their ASD patients? We will never get there without good published research studies. It really would not be too hard to do a double blind placebo controlled study of B12 shots on ASD kids. It’s pretty standard for drug studies to eventually treat the control group if the intervention group greatly improves. If parents don’t want to risk being picked for the control, fine, they can do it on their own and not participate in the study. I know lots of families who haven’t taken the plunge into biomed other than maybe diet, and would love to participate in a study like this if it could give them access to biomed treatments. We don’t have all the answers within the biomed community, but we have some good ones that are helping some kids, but only those whose parents choose to cross mainstream medicine. We are the minority, though. There are far more kids that only get educational therapies, and I want that to change. And yes, I also want to stop poisoning our kids with toxic vaccines. It doesn’t have to be either/or, . I’m waiting for nothing. I’m also actively doing something about it for the kids whose parents would never touch biomed unless their doc recommends it. It is much more helpful to get the facts straight before speaking out against the intentions or opinions of people you do not know. I was merely trying to defend a person who was being made guilty by association. The opinions others inferred he held, I had never read in his posts at all. Guest guest
I have just read a great holiday read, called parts per million by Joy Horowitch. It basically details the poisoning of a generation of children at Beverly Hills High school with the toxic emissions of oil wells that were located on campus. the book is relevant in my oppinion to our interests here as it shows that logic and common sense are being overridden by powerful interests in this world. The Oil companies, the medical industrial complex have total interest in covering the widespread environmental contamination that is the result of human 'progress' over the past decades. GE is mentioned in that book as a pretty heavy contributer to the toxic atmospheric cloud that is all over the ecosphere now and will effect our children and their children and other species for eons to come. It is not just about the vaccines. It certainly is not all about the genes!!! Ange Re: Breaking News, Rescue Post Marty,You may be right. Further conversations between us may be a waste of time since you seem bent on blowing smoke instead of learning some basic facts about autism.Deth told us that 80% of kids would improve with methyl B-12. He was wrong. Neubrander showed that over 90% could improve with methyl B-12. That means that over 90% are affected by mercury or they would be manufacturing their own MB-12 and would have been unaffected by adding MB-12. So, you can see there that this is far from being just about my son. Did you read what Deth had to say or do I need to go into more detail so you understand? The point here is that it seems over 90% of autistic kids can be helped by addressing mercury as the main cause of the autism. This begs the question of whether Mr really has a right to say whatever he wants when he treats his grandson for mercury poisoning but refuses to mention it at all with his TV time, TVcommercials and other use of the media during which he begs for money. must be aware of the same facts I am if he figured it was going to be useful to treat his grandson the same way I treat my kid. So, how does he have a right to waste all that money he raises throwing it on the junk heap of genetic research when he should know that that isn't going to benefit over 90% of autistic children one iota? How does he justify allowing wackos from Neurodiversity to control his messaage board where EVERY person who helps to cure an autistic child is painted as a quack by these raving lunatics. Does he agree that the medical professionals who are helping his grandson are a bunch of quacks as Neurodiverse wackos are telling the world on his message board? is allowing bad information to be perpetuated when he could be advertising that which he knows to be true since it helped his grandson. How long did your friends follow the DAN protocol? How bad off were they to start? My son was described as a vegetable by his doctors and I was advised to just send him away. He's not cured yet and he still has problems like self-biting. He is, however, much improved and nobody thinks he's a vegetable anymore. It's a slow process for some. I've been at it for over 3 years. None of the BS therapies that advocates did a damn thing to help my kid. Those therapies may help some kids who are not severely affected but they are not going to cure the 90+% who have their autism due to mercury. You can try to paint me as an ***hole with your "blast away" at me jive but that's really not a very good answer as to why , NAAR and Gerberding are refusing to let the majority of parents with affected kids learn the truth about thimerosal. How many of those parents do you think will take their doctors advice and just toss the kid in a looney bin and forget about it like I was advised to do? Bob can change all of that by advertising the truth. I think he has a moral obligation to do so! > > > > > > > > >> > > > > > > > > Kim and others from my reliable sources I am told that> > there> > > > > > are no> > > > > > > > plans> > > > > > > > > for any announcement of a new head of environmental> > > > research. Guest guest
So listen to this... I was a student at Beverly Hills high school in the early 80's and every single day we would have softball practice on the field where the oil well was. It literally loomed above us. The smell was totally nasty! I used to joke that we would all get cancer (or worse) someday.... Now I have a severely autistic child. Some joke!On Aug 29, 2007, at 7:13 AM, Maurine Meleck wrote:I used to live in L.A. Where is this well you are talking about.? Guest guest
There were news reports of brain cancer clusters from former students when we were still in LA in 2000. The numbers must have gone up from that time. On the bright side, people on this list and altmed types in general probably have developed exceptionally healthy lifestyles at present which I'm sure lowers the risk from past exposures. > > I used to pass by that oil well all the time when we lived in LA. > > Speaking of cover ups, they quite literally concealed the wells in a > > tower and painted it with flowers! Re: Breaking News, Rescue Post I used to pass by that oil well all the time when we lived in LA. Guest guest
The well is on the sports field at beverly Hill High school. They have a very large incidence of young past graduates with rare cancers especially among those who used to work out at the track. Its a great read especially for all you lawyers out there . A good example of we are up against even when the cause is pretty damned clear! Re: Re: Breaking News, Rescue Post I used to live in L.A. Where is this well you are talking about.? Both of my sister's kids graduated from Beverly Hills High School around 1988-89. maurineanacat_11 <anacat_11 > wrote: I used to pass by that oil well all the time when we lived in LA. Guest guest
Interesting too TX has lots of Oil refineries and one of the highest incidence of autism as well. Apparently there is a lot of mercury in the air in TX. I don't know if its tied to the refineries or something else that is causing it. .. - In EOHarm , " Max " <max.walker@...> wrote: > > The well is on the sports field at beverly Hill High school. > They have a very large incidence of young past graduates with rare cancers especially among those who used to work out at the track. > Its a great read especially for all you lawyers out there .
