Guest guest
Holy shit- a link? How about the fact that some of us know Marty personally and have worked with him? Do you think , Bob, Mike and I are lying? We get enough crap from total strangers coming on the list and pretending to be something they are not. Just because you think Marty is “articulate & intelligent” means he MUST be working for Autism Speaks? Is that your argument? Marty has posted on the list before many times- this is not the first. I’ve argued with him a few times myself personally. That doesn’t mean he works for AS. Seriously- when 4 active people on this list tell you the guy doesn’t work for AS- have a little respect and use some common sense. Next you are going to say & Bob work for them too.... You guys should be writing emailing to all the networks tonight (if you haven’t already) instead of having this stupid conversation. Guest guest
Everybody calm down! Marty is not a mole. He is a skeptic about the vaccine/autism link. But he does not stand in the way of those who have evidence of it. He works for our kids on other issues like insurance - and many other issues. We've got bigger fish to fry. Guest guest
I think Marie is right. Lesson: email is a really poor form of communication. Proving a true association between Marty and AS may be even more difficult than proving a link between mercury and vaccines. Guest guest
Diplomatic and well stated. On Jun 11, 2007, at 11:11 PM, McDonough wrote: Marty, Thanks for your thoughtful and honost reply; and for your dedication to helping those affected by autism. Please understand that many of us are very incensed by the behavior and actions of certain health agencies, corporations and individuals that have resulted in many children not receiving medical care that could be so beneficial to them. We are quite an impassioned and outspoken group, especially when it comes to thimerosal. It is refreshing to see members of one autism group speaking out in support of a member of another group, even though there is a difference in some basic beliefs.... and the mutual understanding that the well-being of our children is the ultimate priority. Guest guest
LOL Sorry Bob, after seeing you write that for about the third time, I just got this image of you with a mega-phone, "Please return to your homes, there is nothing to see here. I repeat, there is nothing to see here. Please return to your homes" -My inner dialogue plays out as sketch comedy.... it's why I always have a grin on my face!
