I just saw in a recent tabloid type paper a photo of Preston

and her son who towers over her by many inches. I cannot find the

Oh man. That’s sad. Why is he walking around with no shoes on too? She’s wearing spaghetti straps and he’s wearing the hood on his sweater. My son does that. He just likes the feeling on his head and doesn’t care that it’s 70* out.

I don't know for sure that they are. I don't follow celebrities or tabloids

much, but I have

seen a few recent reports on this list and others that they are in denial, don't

get him any

services, try to hide him because of their Scientology belief, etc..below is one

articles that are circulating about them. Like I said, I am cautious about

trusting what I

read when it comes to celebrities. I also read in a few different reports that

only after a lot

of pressure did the couple come out and say that he has Kawasaki Syndrome- not

autism.

I would never presume they aren’t

good parents (at least not by tabloids or hearsay) nor that they are wrong for

not accepting a diagnosis of Autism. I think most of us agree that Autism

has never been the right word by itself with only the main stream definition

and description. The Travoltas call it Kawasaki syndrome. Which is a toxic syndrome.

If you ask me it’s a much better description of what my son

experiences. Autism just happens to be the word I use to acquire services

he needs.

I know my neighbors would never be a good

judge about what’s going on in my house.

Besides, thanks to Preston when she

came out with safe cleaning initiative I stopped using chemicals to clean my

carpet and several cleaners for the house, maybe my son would have been even

worse if I continued to use those products.

It's a shame about Scientology, but I think pressuring parents to come out with a child's dx when they clearly didn't want to is invading the child's right to privacy, and their right to protect his privacy. Do we really need another celebrity to announce another dx to raise awareness? I don't believe so, not unless they want to. JMHO. True. That's why tabloids really annoy me. To me they are good for making fun of

while

waiting in the check out line.

I also have neighbors that I would definitely not trust to make an accurate

judgement of

us. In fact, I have often thought that when my kids have a major meltdown they

probably

think we are abusing them!

I also agree with what Holly said in a previous post- It's no one else's

business. I have

always big on privacy and would hate celebrity status for this reason alone.

I think also that celebreties are aware of what is appropriate to come out with and what is not. They have a career to think about and they do not want to upset those that hold the strings. much like the career scientists. they know what is favorable publicity.

Remember how tom Cruise got hammered for questioning antidepressants!

Bad move , his career has never been the same.

I agree, they have every right to keep their childrens' lives private.

It's not like he doesn't help any autism charity that requests it, at

least in my experience. If they want to keep their son private, more

power to 'em.

I read but seldom post here...yes...they have at least been to a DAN!

and several other kinds of MD's ... looking more into natural things,

vitamins, ect., they are quite, but not in denial...just not public

or doing learning programs that others are doing. They have done fund

raising for Cassies Club house...a group for vaccine damaged

childern. The have made limited contact with people doing bio-med,

but do make odd choices...

The Travolta's were very into helping The Autism Autoimmunity Project

and were active in fundraising for the organization before it closed

up shop a few years ago.

I know the ladies that used to run TAAP National were in contact with

Preston when I was the chapter director in NJ.

I dont think theyre in denial about Jett's autism, I think that those

statments are nothing more than B/S rumors.

They were honorary guests....werent there at any but endorsed the

event and donated money to the organization.

Part of the reason that they werent able to attend the events I

believe was because of their obligations to their careers and to

their family....

I can't judge them for that. I can hardly keep shoes on my

daughter's feet. She takes them off every chance she gets anymore.

And she loves hoodies too. If she has something with a hood on, it

has to be on her head at all times.
