I'm just sick about this. Here was a person, trained for years to follow credo of ..."1st do no harm " she had more tools at her disposal to deal with her issues. There is reciprocity in her field Drs don't charge Drs usually and they have a network of contact, they can direct link unlike us plebians who have to be on hold go thru hoops to reache them etc.. No I'm not cutting her any slack... A murdering callous "itch" with a capital B ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! The chilling narrative is just wicked. SIck or not she ALWAYS knew right from wrong evil from benevolence and had free will to think things through and ask for help. She CHOSE not to.and that is inexcusable.............There are no extenuating circumstances and furthermore the grandparents or other relatives had primary care for the kid. She didn't have the kid full time like we do. A

defenceless child was snuffed out like a used cigarette with exactly the same indifference I might add. Her last image, knowledge of anything on earth was that the person most charged with succouring and protecting her was in fact torturing her to death. Oh no, death penalty for her and I'll volunteer to extinguish her life with the same alacrity that she did her daughter's n

YOU KNOW ALL THIS TALK HAS RAISED THE IMPORTANCE OF TAKING SOME OF THOSE DOLLARS FROM AUTISM SPEAKS AND MAKING A PUBLIC SERVICE VIDEO ABOUT HOW TO DEAL WITH THE STRESSES AND STRAINS OF LIVING WITHIN THE FAMILY DYNAMIC OF AUTISM EVERY HEALTH CARE PROVIDER SHOULD BY LAW BE MANDATED TO DISCUSS THE STRESS/ OVERWHELMED/ING ISSUES OF DEALING WITH AUTISM. IT IS UNECESSARY TO STATE HOW LOW EVERY PARENT FEELS REGARDING PROGNOSES. THE PRESENT OUTCOMES REGARDING AUTISM ARE PRETTY LOW IN TERMS OF CURE. THIS IS A VERY TOUGH REALITY TO FACE FOR EVERY PARENT OR CAREGIVER YES EVERY ORGANIZATION DEALING WITH AUTISM SHOULD CONTRIBUTE TO THE DESIGNING OF A ROADMAP FOR DEALING WITH AUTISM IN FACT THE DEPT OF HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES SHOULD UNDERTAKE THIS TASK BECAUSE YES, IT IS THAT IMPORTANT sorry for capitals

You know, I just posted that I thought she was not evil and so on, but I

didn't know the entire story, apparently.

You are right about medical doctors and nurses having preferential

treatment for themselves. That is not an accusation or even a criticism.

It is called professional courtesy that just about anyone has in whatever

profession they have.

My own sister is a nurse and when my son got hit in the elbow with a

baseball and broke the bone, they said it might have affected the growth

plate. I called her and she got me in to see the chief of orthopedic surgery

2 hours later.

This woman had options...many many options at her disposal.

There is NO excuse for the murder of a child. Period. Sophia, I don't think ANYBODY would EVER in a MILLION YEARS call mental illness

and

severe depression an EXCUSE for murder.

The reason I am so interested in her state of mind is NOT to excuse her or give

her a

lighter sentence, but to understand the psychology behind the crime. We have to

at least

try to prevent these atrocities toward our precious children.

But if you light a match and throw it at her before you really get to know and

understand

her... you may be dooming another child with a mother like that.

We live in an informed educated society in this USA. The internet has opened windows of information that were unfathomable just 10 or so years ago. All too often we read and hear, we need to understand what was going on in X or Y's head so that we can prevent it from recurring.. Oh yes ! and... numerous studies have been undertaken and laudatory barrels of information gleaned. Papers written theories postulated etc.etc.. What does this mean..? simply this. That EVERY human being in this country KNOWS right from wrong, correct from incorrect , moral from immoral...........We know this because even the most despicable criminals amongst us go to great lengths to hide their crimes. We learn as kids how to prevaricate, tell half truths slectively omit salient points when proffering our side of the story...........and boy the best example of all are set by the

blowhards in congress. So, we don't need to nor can we learn anything from this wretched woman. There is NOTHING we can learn from her. We know why she did it, because, she has told us.......It basically comes down to her saying, my kid was a nuisance raining on my lifes planned parade, so I nonchalantly and calculatedly snuffed her out like a candle flame. I then took a shower and ruminated about how I could explain her demise.etc......... There we have it, even in the midst of her depression angst etc.she still was possesive of the wherewithall to intellectually consider her options. The one aspect I'm grateful for is that she didn't succeed in her lame suicide attempt, because it provided her with the opportunity to confess and tell us her pitiful tale. That at least provides closure to her family because they have her rationale. But it doean't tell

the greater society anything that it doesn't already know. Evil is evil.it's as simple as that. it should be harshly dealt with. Sadly, this doctor prevented another person from becoming a doctor because she occupied a spot in her medical school. That's the real pity Take care n
