However, we can all take some comfort in knowing that Diedre Imus has joined on the board of (correct me if I am wrong) NAA. In fact, if I had to choose between having Bob and or Diedre Imus in my foxhole when the going got rough, I would choose Diedre every time. See what's free at AOL.com. Guest guest
Oh geez.... I imagine what happened is that the NAAR creeps went crying to the s to complain about their evil daughter, . The s felt the need to distance themselves from the evil due to the pressure put upon them from the " creeps " . They then realized (or were told by their daughter) that their original message (probably done in haste) made them look as if they were not supportive of their daughter's views and/or made look foolish. In order to remedy that situation... They change their message to assure everyone that is loved. Phew! I do feel a little bit better if only because I would hate to have a huge family war going on here. People need their moms and dads if at all possible. I do have to agree with your ROFL! comment though... This would make a great soap opera. I loved 's interview with . I really hope that she doesn't regret doing it now > > ROFL!!!!!!! Guest guest
The PR firm that produced the statement forgot that parents should express love for their children in public statements. This is a public relations production produced by one of the best and most expensive PR firms in the world. It is a corporate maneuver that reflects an attempt to quell internal conflict in the organization. On Jun 2, 2007, at 3:23 PM, autismlink wrote: ROFL!!!!!!! Guest guest
We need to rely on ourselves to make the case for environmental/vaccine research, not celebrities or people with notoriety. Statements by highly visible persons help to some extent, but if we don't organize ourselves to get what we want, we will never get what we need. Guest guest
They are grown-ups. They are grandparents. They are worldly and successful people. Do not make excuses for them or anyone. They are powerful enough to handle themselves. Either they stand up or they don't. We all get strong-armed in life. The test of our character is how we stand up to being strong-armed. If certain individuals do not stand up for what we want, then it is fair to conclude that they do not share our beliefs. Take their statements at face value and then move forward to counter those statements and promote your principled beliefs. We all have power, but not if we keep looking to others to get the job done. We need to do it ourselves. On Jun 2, 2007, at 5:15 PM, markautismcharge wrote: Yep, 's mom and dad are being strong-armed. > > > > ROFL!!!!!!! Guest guest
Hear Hear!! I do believe you have honed in on one of our biggest problems: organizing ourselves. AS is extremely efficient. But money does not necessarily answer the question of how to get all you bright, talented, and powerful personalities to work in tandem. Sometimes I feel like that ditzy mother in " Poppins " - The father is going on and on about how the home should be run like the British Empire, etc. and she says " Dear- it's about the children! " . And he says " Yes, yes, yes. . . now where was I? " . But you know, we can do this. And we ARE doing it.
