My wife and I think our child has . We love our

pediatrician, but he and others we have consulted seem

to have little experience with . This has

resulted in very similar frustration to that expressed

by some in this group.

We live south of San Francisco, on the peninsula.

Does anyone know of a expert in the Northern

California area? Or does it make sense to consult an

expert elsewhere in the U.S.?

Thanks!!

Hi,

We also live on the peninsula - in San Mateo. Our pediatrician

referred us to the infectious disease clinic at Stanford - here is a

link to their information -

nfectiousDiseases/infectiousDiseases.html We've been seen by Dr.

Ganz and Dr. Gutierrez, both of whom seemed knowledgable about

, as well as the other periodic fever syndromes. We also see

the rheumotologists at Stanford and at UCSF and they also were

knowledgable about the periodic fever syndromes. We were initially

referred to Stanford by our pediatrician so I'm not sure how it

works if you can contact them directly?

I hope this was helpful and please let me know if there is anything

else I can do.

Good luck!

(mom to Layla, 2 yrs. old, undiagnosed periodic fever syndrome)
