Guest guest
No Keri... you can actually go to www.genedx.com and obtain the testing through them. Each test is there... they will send you kits. The prices are listed too. Check out there site it is great. It is also the SAME lab the genetic studies are sent to from NIH. The difference, NIH uses blood samples then keeps some of the DNA so they can test as new mutations come forward. They may call you and ask if they can resend DNA for new mutations. This is how ph's mutation was isolated this past Nov. Prior to that he had all available mutations checked for.... Also through NIH it is free. I believe it runs about $600 a test. I gather your doc is unfamiliar with the lab. Labs up at Mass Gen do similar testing however they do NOT have the capability to do ALL mutations so the suggestion from NIH is if you want to pay for them or if your insurance will cover then go to Genedx.
