Guest guest
Have just got back from night away to find Henry going down with fever. He gets them rarely nowadays, but every time we go away without the children we find that the stress of missing us triggers a fever. This makes it so difficult for us. It's hard enough to find someone to look after your children for a night or more without the worry that they will be coping with sleepless night and fevering plus vomiting child. Does this happen to anyone else?
Guest guest
I haven't ever left my children before but different stresses seem to bring their fevers on. Traveling is one. We can expect a cycle following a trip to the beach. Several nights of going to bed late will trigger an episode. I am going to the beach this weekend without my husband and kids for the first time in the last 14 years. I hope it doesn't trigger a fever because Hallie (3) my youngest is having her tonsils out 4 days after I come back. Guest guest
Stress totally brings them on for my daughter. Traveling, lots going on at school, several nights going to bed sort of late--exactly as Holly described. After a very stressful spring and many fevers I am being relentless about bedtime and not over-scheduling and it is helping her cope in general; she seems to have more reserves to deal with daily stuff and has even gotten cold symptoms without crashing into a 104 fever. We are traveling in two days to visit her five older cousins though so I know what we'll be doing the week following . . . it is validating to read others' experience with this.
