Guest guest
On Tuesday I got a call from our daycare that my two year old daughter Ella had another fever. Her fevers have been somewhat irregular now (ranging from 4-6 weeks apart) since she's started with the prednisone, but so far we feel that we've been able to manage them very effectively with the prednisone. Anyway, I was explaining Ella's recurring fevers to a gal at work this week and to my surprise she said that her niece had suffered from the same type of fevers from the time she was about a year old until she was in about 2nd or 3rd grade. This gal told me that at that time there really was very little known about the disorder, and her niece suffered for years with high fevers that lasted several days at a time and had several seizures with the fevers also. She said that amazingly, her niece grew out of the fevers and that she is now in her late 20s and just had her first baby. Then I talked to my mom on Wednesday evening and she said that she was talking to a gal that she works with whose granddaughter also had suffered from periodic fevers for years. This woman's granddaughter eventually outgrew her fevers also. Although Ella is showing no signs of outgrowing her fevers and she may never outgrow them, I just wanted to share the two stories of the lucky gals who eventually outgrew their fevers. They give me hope that someday Ella can share the same fate.
