Guest guest
I have two questions, I am hoping someone can help me with. Do any of your children with have trouble gaining weight? Secondly, do any of your children have a rash around their mouth which gets darker red during an episode? My son Mason has a lot of trouble gaining weight. He lingers at 33 pounds and is 5 years old. He's quite small for his age. Before he had these fever episodes he was chubby and much bigger (weighing in at 21 pounds at 12 months old). So he's only gained about 12 pounds in the last 4 years. In addition, since the Fall of last year, he got this rash around his mouth. Sometimes its barely noticeable, but when he's having an episode it gets much darker. His Infectious Disease Doctor said he may be salivating due to his tonsils being swollen and his bad sore throat; however, I don't really buy this as an answer because he never drools. He never licks his lips either. And some months he doesn't get a sore throat or swollen tonsils ... so I just don't understand why he has this rash. He also has intestinal issues, so his GI is currently trying to find out if the low weight gain is due to the GI or the . The same with the rash around his mouth, is it or GI. If any of your children have either, would you let me know. I'd really appreciate hearing from you. It really gets difficult with diagnosing our son due to the various chronic conditions he has and it would be nice knowing what symptoms go with what illness.
