Guest guest
I intoduced myself last week but not sure it posted. I am a stay at home mom from Southern Ca and I have a 20 month old daughter with . She has had fevers since she was about 6 months old. She was just recently diagnosised by our ID doctor after getting negative results on her genetic tests for FMF, HIDS, and TRAPS. We have been tring pred. which takes away the fever but then she just gets another one 10-14 days later. On Wed. she got a runny nose and cough and by Fri. she ended up with another fever. We are in full blown fever time right now with the hight of 104.5. It feels so unfair and like she is constantly being punished. I know it could be worse but that doesn't make it feel better when the fever hits. It makes our lives very different than we ever imagined. We just started trying the cimetidine on Thur. but the fever hit before it had a chance to help. I couldn't get her to take it this morning, she hates how it tasts plus her fever has been so high I can't get her to do much of anything. I quess since she only had 3 doses this time we will just restart the Cime. after this fever is over and keep our fingers crossed that it stops the next one. After trying the Cime. for a little while we will next try a tonsilectomy. Our ENT who did ear tubes on her last May said she would look over some research I gave her and she sounds willing to give it a try after she turns 2 years old. Well I have to go check on her fever and give her love. Thank you for this support group, I look forward to reading the posts everyday. mother of ee 20 months old Southern Ca.
