Guest guest
I have a question.. My 2 1/2 year old daughter has had fevers every two weeks for over two years. She spikes at 105 and sometimes goes to over 106. She is extremely lethargic and refuses to eat and drink and her fever does not respond to prednisone or ibuprofen or Tylenol. They have suggested but she does not follow the symptoms completely. She does have swollen lymph nodes but never mouth sores and they claim her episodes are more frequent than typical . She now has to have a spinal tap during her next episode to see if she could have some form of meningitis. However I was wondering how people can work when there children are so sick like this so often? I am a single mother of three and I got fired from my job for having to leave work every other week and being off for almost a week. Kiara's daycare will not work with me on this situation and they say they cannot have her there with such a high fever. Her episodes last for 5 to 7 days and I have found nothing that will bring her fever down. I have alternated Tylenol and Motrin every three hours and that still does don't bring her fever down below 105. She is just miserable during this time and I just don't know what else to do. So if anyone can help please let me know. Thank you. Mother of Kiara 2 1/2 --------------------------------- New Messenger with Voice. Call regular phones from your PC and save big.
