Guest guest
has always had that. In fact, he had his tear ducts probed in 2004. They seemed better for awhile, but lately they are really watering again. Particularly during his fevers! Guest guest
gets very light sensitive when he has a fever. He also complains of his eyes hurting other times, I think because he rubs them too hard and the lashes go in and poke him. He rubs his eyes more during a fever because of the light sensitivity. I haven't noticed his eyes watering more than usual though. Has anyone else experienced light sensitivity during a fever? doesn't want to be out in daylight (even on a cloudy day), he doesn't want the shades open, and he wants sunglasses on. - --- <steighner_41@...> wrote: > Just wondering if anyone elses child has complained of their eyes > > hurting during a fever? Guest guest
, Sorry, but this one made me sort of giggle. I'm 42, and " I " have a light sensitivity ALL the time too, much less during a fever, or migraine. I thought that was SO cute that wants to wear sunglasses. What is life without humor, huh? Especially in light of all the sick children and their dealings with among other fever disorders. Thanks for sharing that one. Aw... poor baby. Guest guest
Zachary has a lot of light sensitivity too during his fevers....I think it's related to his headaches he gets. He can't stand any light, esp natural light when he's fevering and often buries his head in pillow if I can't get it dark enough in our den where he usually lays on the couch (his room is nice and dark, so sometimes he opts to just go to bed). Guest guest
My son, , wore sunglasses opening his Christmas presents and Easter basket this year due to migraines (strange that he is always sick on holidays!). Rheumi and Neurologist both believe my son has two separate issues; migraines and . His pediatrician and I keep wondering if both illnesses are really related instead of having two illnesses? had another MRI last week (can out clear, YEAH!) and he had an EEG last Friday. We are waiting on the EEG results. Once we find out the results of the EEG we plan to apply to the NIH. I would love to hear from others, who's children have a problem with migraines along with or if any of your children suffer from light sensitivity, vertigo and visual disturbances. Thanks in advance! in Chicago mom to (6yrs. & migraines) and Luke (almost 4 yrs.) and wife to Jerry (kidney cancer survivor!) --------- Re: eyes hurting gets very light sensitive when he has a fever. Guest guest
- My son does get terrible headaches with his , which is what finally lead to his diagnosis after he had symptoms for 7 yrs. He is now 23 yrs old and still has the symptoms including the headaches (they always accompany the fevers, etc.) By the way, have you been to Children's in Chicago to see any ID doctors? that's where was diagnosed 16 yrs ago. Guest guest
Deanna, How old is Zachary? I've often wondered if has headaches during his fevers, but he has never complained of that. He's two and a half and is starting to be more articulate about what he's feeling. He tells us his mouth hurts, and his eyes, but never his head. But I still wonder. Tonight as I put him to bed I prayed (as I usually do) that he would not get fevers anymore (he's due next weekend). He got mad at me and exclaimed " I like fevers! " That just goes to prove that a two-year-old can be contrarian about just about anything! - --- deannab0103 <mattdeanna@...> wrote: > Zachary has a lot of light sensitivity too during his fevers....I > think it's related to his headaches he gets. Guest guest
, Zachary is 4yrs, will be 5 in Sept. He has had fevers since 4 mos. It's amazing how much better he is able to tell me what is exactly going on with his body in the last year and half or so. I don't think he told me about his headaches til last year, I'm assuming he always has had them. He used to when he was little say his neck hurt, and now he says his throat. This morning he woke up crying and immediately when I went up he told me his fever was back (he just had one Sat and we are experimenting with prednisone) and he was right. He knows his body really well right now. It will be really hard if we decide to forego prednisone treatments and he will ask/beg for it as he knows it makes him all better. We pray daily for Zachary as well. That is a cute story about your son. My daughter is 2.5 (will be 3 in July) and I can TOTALLY relate! Guest guest
Hi Kathleen! Thanks for your response! Yes, we have been to Children's. We saw ID doc, Dr. Katz there. He was not convinced that my son has . He thought that he had just had a run of viruses. At the time, we had not been charting his fevers for very long and his fevers are not as predictable as most children. We first got the migraine diagnosis. As I was tracking the migraines to see if we could find any triggers for the migraines I realized that he was also having fever episodes on a regular basis. It has been so hard to tell what has been going on with my son since he seems to have more then one problem. Now that he is getting old enough to tell us his symptoms we are starting to piece it all together. He gets migraines without the fever and sometimes with the fever. Prayers! --------- Re: eyes hurting > > > gets very light sensitive when he has a fever. Guest guest
I posted a few months ago about this, and didn't get much response, but I think it was in a larger post as well. Anyway, YES YES YES!! We are ALL to familiar with the light sensitivity. We have to close the blinds in the mornings too when the sun is shining directly in. My daughter used to watch movies at bed time, that stopped after about 2 episodes. The Christmas tree lights hurt her eyes at night. One Dr. we saw diagnosed her with, " photo phobia " . Ha..what a joke!! She hates the flash of the camera. She doesn't mind pictures being taken as long as she doesn't have to look directly at the camera when it's going to flash. We have to take most of our pics outside. Not glad, but yet glad to see others suffer with this as well!! Shumate --------------------------------- Feel free to call! Free PC-to-PC calls.
