Guest guest
My son whos 5yrs old was thought to have then they were unsure its been 1yr 4months he saw Infectious Disease Specialist at University Hospital in Syracuse NY they were left puzzled had no answers except for because no one really understands this syndrome. Well my son has had labs drawn approx 30- 35 times in this time frame Urinalysis done Approx 5 times a couple chest xrays. Well The labs showed high levels of C-reactive protein while he had the fevers and nothing the DRS could do. At this point in time I have had about enough. My child has no fear of needles and knows the lab people to well. To make a long story short we decided to take him to an ENT to rule out every possibility including allergies. They ran more labs for cat scratch fever and allergies. They also had him do a CT of the sinuses. THe allergies came back positive for dust mites, molds, oak trees and some weeds. Cat Scratch was neg. But to are surprise the CT helped shed a little light on s problems. has severly enlarged adnoids and possibly might need the tonsils removed to.as a result from these enlarged adnoids he also has severe sinus problems that we are going to wait to see if they clear up after the adnoids are removed. He has a permanent infection in the sinus are they beleive when it flares up he gets the temp the puffy eyesand hes down for 4 days. Its amazing it took this long to get answers but we aren't positive this caused the fevers we are hoping this did. I hope this helps some parents that have not had much success I would reccomend a CT of the sinuses. Amber McRae
