Guest guest Posted November 29, 2005 Report Share Posted November 29, 2005 Hi I am a mother of a 4 year old. Clays first fever, vomitting & diarrhea started at 6 weeks. Every month another followed. We have an amazing pedi. She did not know what was going on but she search high and low for him. Unfortunately, with such high fevers she was not taking any chances either which put us in the hospital every month. At 2 he was finally diagnosised with HIDS, a type of Periodic Fever. He was put on several meds and is less symtomatic but still has fevers, vomitting & diarrhea every month. He started last year with a clear drainage from his nose. It soon follows with a nosebleed two days later then the fever. It is always a new challenge since the symtoms are different. Good luck. You were lucky to find this web site early. I just found it in June. I never knew how many other children have this illness but yet it still seems to be a medical mystery.
