Guest guest
The last time seen the ID doctors they decided to try cimetidine. He has been on it since 1/19/06 and since then he has had 2 fever episodes. One was bad and had to take prednisone and now seems to be getting over a episode without taking it. The episode lasted 5 days, but not as bad as usual, which sometimes happens every now and then. (Before cimetidine his fevers were coming every 1 - 2 weeks.) The only thing I think I see a difference in is the days between fevers. He was sleepy, pale and complained of leg and back pain and before his fevers he almost was a normal kid. goes back to the ID doctors tomorrow and I don't know what should be the next step. Should I request the genetic testing? (would have to pay for) Keep him on cimetidine longer and see? Request to have his tonsils out? Get on the waiting list for NIH? His ID doctors did telephone Dr. Kasner and he also thinks has , but is willing to give info to get on the list. I am just fustrated! We really thought the cimetidine would work better and very concerned about him missing school. I really would like some advice!
