Guest guest
My son is now 13 mo old and he has been havign episodes routinely since he was 8 mo old. We have had quiet a diffrent episode this time and I think his recent vaccination (just had measles and chicken pox shot a week before) had a great affect on his episode. On the positive, which is weird. Hsi episodes usually run 4 days high fever over 106 and two days lower fevers like 103. We have found he gets terrible bottom rashes starting two days before episode starts. Well this episode started on the 10th same signs before, same fever, same appetite etc. This lasted two and a half days and fever never even got to 105! Which is not like his normal ones at all. About noon on the 3rd day he had no fever and woke form his nap with small spots on his back and soon there were more on his torso. We called the doctor and she assured us he was just immune system was building teh antibodies against the vaccines so he will be immune to thosee diseases. She said it shouldn't last as long as normal chicken pox and shouldn't have fever etc. He is not even itchign or in any pain at all! It's weird he is actign normal and his episode was less severe and cut in half by length! I wonder if having immunizations week before boosted his immune system into " overdrive " and caused him to be able to fight whatever causes the episodes and caused it to be less severe. This is my guess. I'd like to ask you all if youhave noticed this, but more importantly I'd like to let the experts who are doing research on know about this. I'd love to hear your opinions. Guest guest
Marie It sounds like your son had a reaction that may occur from the chicken pox vaccine.... When the kids get this vaccine (ALL children not just kids) there IS a potential for the kids to get a low grade fever from 100-103 and get a small rash especially on abdomen or back!! Our pediatricians office tells the parents that this may occur as antibodies form! Was his fever at the " usual " time... (On cycle??) or was it different? Now on the other hand... LOL With our kids and the theory with ... and overdrive... maybe your little one simply did " fight " off the episode and a worse case of .... So many questions!! By the way, I have the emails of the docs who did the initial study at the website... with the phone numbers... etc... You can always... email them and tell them... even IF you do not get a response... You still " plant " the seed in their BRAIN... (As my Mom always said!!) Guest guest
Yes, his episode was ontime. He even got the same " signs " he gets before the fever. He gets a terrible rash on his bottom that just eats his skin up. His poopy turns acidy I think. Guest guest
That's the first I've heard of the " acidy poopy " , Britain use to be that way in the beginning. Just one little bm and his little botton would be red and bleeding in some areas even. I don't notice it so much now that he's not in diapers. It's like it instantly burned off the top layer of skin off his little butt cheeks. has anyone else seen that? Guest guest
Yep thats exactly like it is. Literally burns his skin. We have found a way to fight it the best way we can. If anyone else has this problem and wants me to describe it to you I'll be glad to go into more details if you want me to. One time he actually got infantigo before we knew how to treat it. He gets this all the time two days before episode and then goes on through part of episode too.
