Carol,

I will be thinking of you tomorrow, as you

are heading into surgery. I pray that all goes well while you are in the surgeons

hands, and that he can clear out all your scar tissue, and perform the surgery

so that you have the best possible outcome. I can’t wait to hear

from you!

By the time you have your surgery your night time LDN block will be over. But

if you are worried, skip your dose the night before.

I don't believe any of the "caines" are narcotic. Their effect takes place on the immediate nerve, not via the opiate receptors in your brain... Opiates work by affecting your brain, not the local nerves.

Hi Daphne,

I had surgery on my rib-cage, and my chest. The surgeon took out a couple

of lipomas (fatty tumors) that were bothering me. All he used was a local

and I did not stop taking the LDN nor was there any reaction to the local

he gave me. Just my two cents worth. (I did tell him what I was taking

prior to surgery)

I have a question:

I'm almost certain novocaine, xylocaine, or lanacaine (all local anesthetics) which are to be used for my toenail surgery Tues, are NOT narcotic--but does anyone know for sure?

thanks,

Daphne

My 16 year old son has been on LDN since June of 2004. In December

he had gall bladder removal surgery, and his surgeon told us there

was no reason to discontinue the LDN at all in regards to the pain

meds he might or might not need, or the anethesia. The locals that

you are talking about ARE NOT opiate based. And, you might also find

it of interest that my son was able to take Lortab 7.5 for two days

post op without any interference from the LDN. He never skipped a

dose, we just made sure he didn't take his pain meds at the same time

that he took the LDN. Everything went just great! Good luck to you!

Hi Daphne

I had a cebacious cist removed from my back after about two months into

taking 4.5 mgs of my LDN and I never had a problem with any kind of pain

killers that were given to me. Either during or after the operation.
