I am apparently not getting all of the posts from the list either. This

morning I got a reply to a post written re my Household Organization/Throwing

Behavior question. I didn't get the original post and when I read it in the

reply I knew I would remember because it was really helpful. I searched

high and low in my mail box because that is one I would have printed out for

later reference but it wasn't there.

Yep, something is wrong here again. Back to missing posts and delayed

responses. Darn, it was so good for so long too.

Hi CK,

That is a lot of medicine. Ted is on synthroid since

1 week old. I wondered if anyone saw the news about

synthroid and knew what it was about.

Thanks,

Gail

Hi:

I am new to this site. I have a 25 year old DownSyndrome Son with mild

Autism. We have also experimented with many meds over the years for

behaviors. I am assuming that this is what is going on with you? I am trying

to find parents who experience problems with behaviors. So, I will start

here. As you can imagine, my son has also been very loved and we have tried

for 25 years to understand the Autism. No one ever talked about that because

everyone was too busy concentrating on the Down Syndrome issue. We have done

well with our son Kent but it is getting harder as he grows into adulthood.

Good luck. Judy

hi judy nice t meet you, its great to add more with adult ages, your wisdom

and experiences a real help. Weve been on the med merry-go round for many

years now, and we are at using concerta(a form of ritalin) and luvox

(obsessive compulsive or antidepressent med) ritalin or concerta help calm

nathan down (he is horribly hyper i could wirte quite an email on that area

alone) and the luvox hasnt really helped the OCD which drives us nuts, he

even obsesses with our clothes, uuuhg, but he does seem happeir-less moody on

it, and even talking more, which was pretty much neal to none before, maybe

a little more social too, but just for short periods of time in big groups.

We also, since nathan was 3yrs of age(will soon be 10) have done behavior

management through biobehavior services offered at the ds clinic at UIHC,

they do great review, then train you and child and make videos for school

and respite provider etc, this has helped trmendously!!!! especially with

the med combo to help calm him and make him more approachable. shawna.
