Guest guest
Hi Everyone - Could ya'll tell me about the developmental ped. in Cincinnati? I am interested in possibly taking Duncan for an eval. sometime in the next six months. Also, FYI - and I may have missed this on the site and sorry if I repeat, but did anyone see the " Today Show " last week? My mom watched and told me about a website that a PhD student at UVA developed called " Simplified Signs " that she developed and is using with stroke victims and individuals with Austism. It's very similar to the " total communication " signs so many of us have used and created for our kids. Anyway, I'm downloading the printable signs on from the website and please take a look - it gives the history and theory and results for her work. The website is www.simplifiedsigns.org Last, but not least - Some of you again, know this, but a reminder that even though October seems far away, we all know it will really be here before we turn around! The National Down Syndrome Buddywalk here in Washington is October 14th. If anyone is interested in coming - please feel free to contact me about places to stay, tours, etc. I'll be honored first and foremost to see if I can coordinate free places to have families stay - I could coordinate with some families that here in the area and the PODS group. Hang in there everyone. You all give me such hope and the comfort that we're not alone. -Ann
