Hi ,

has been on Zyprexa since March, 2000, and he hasn't gained any

weight. It must depend on each kid's metabolism. Of course, he is a g-tube

kid and he only nutrition is Ensure so maybe that makes a difference.

Anyway, just thought I would throw that in. ;)

For those who are considering using Zyprexa watch for weight gain. JJ has

gained 6 pounds since starting it 4 weeks ago. In May 2000 we started the

gf diet, he last 10 pounds in 6 weeks. Had gained 5 back. Now another 6.

We hjave been trying everything to get more calories into this kid. When I

make pizza I add shredded cheese to the dough. Use lots of olive oil in

everything. So now it time to slow down and find some lower calorie snacks.

If he only whould eat fruit and veggies------we have some beautiful

strawberries now. Have to keep looking.

ds/autism/celiac), (6 ds/ADHD/Celiac), and Esther (4 ds). All adopted.

Terry,

I think the weight gain has to do with JJ's system slowing down. He no

longer poops as soon as he eats anymore. Looks like the way he absorbs food

has improved.
