Guest guest
Hi All, The stuff is not a big deal in this household. I got so used to it that I really haven't thought about it until it became a topic. Zeb carries lots of stuffed animals, elastic bands and rips down the vertical blinds so he can use all this STUFF to line up all over the house. He will sneak anything he can in his pockets, backpack etc. to school. He has now taken over the livingroom and I dare not move it. What an excuse not to vacuum. I really forgot how weird this was. Guest guest
I keep reading about your children carrying stuff and dangling things. does not do that. But he does sneak things to school in his pockets and sneaks things from school, home. He has taken the remote control to school. " Have thumb will travel " is his motto. When he is not in school or eating (go figure) his thumb is in his mouth. He chews on his thumbs like he is a wolf in a trap trying to get out. And he makes moaning noises while he does it. We are constantly taking his thumb out of his mouth or telling him " no chewing " when we give up and he quiets down for a while. We have tried to redirect him, but he redirects with the thumb in the mouth. We have tried lollipops, but he doesn't like them. Too sweet I think. I would not dare give gum! His thumbs are always wet and he has learned to wipe it on his shirt after taking it out of his mouth to shake hands with someone. GROSS! If I give a toy or object to carry, he chucks it. Doesn't like holding on for long. Likes that thumb! Guest guest
its the same with nathan, all he needs is a shoe string and he is set, we are starting to have second thoughts about removing them completely, its sucha pain, and my DH says its just a shoestring what difference does it make, its cheap and easy and he is content, making our lives just a little easier, id have to agree, so ive been letting nathan have his string when he asks for it, only, but not at school, has to be home or at church, occasionally if were at an event, like last night my boys had a pack meeting for boyscouts and nathan earned his wolfe badge, yaaaaaaaaaaaa, what a ham, up on the stage bowing, hehehe, and nicholas earned more paw prints. next month nicholas gets to cross over to boyscout yaaaa, he is excited, us too, this way we dont have to attend every den meeting, and attend every activity with him, they have their den leaders for that, so it willbe a little easier. shawna. Guest guest
Catching up on everybodys post . This one surely caught my eyes . WoW ! I don't believe it . Thought I was alone and must be spoiling him . My son is still carrying particular toys , books , tapes , and his beat-up dangling stuffed elephant . Once in awhile he'll carry whatever video is around . I guess he'll be carrying " The Emperor's New Groove " . I finally got him ,to at least carry only one item , when we enter places . Its still taking time , though . This past Sunday before we attended Mass . We arrived at the parking lot . He would not get off the car, unless his toys came along . I had to keep my cool it was Sunday . He finally got off , so did his toys . Then he calmed down as we finally were inside . I just kept praying for patience . Then he started to rock back and forth . I had remembered what to do , so slowly I gave him a massage on his back and he sat still . Now , I know I'm not alone .
