And it does help him be more connected at school.

I don't think that was much help. Sorry

I don't understand why they dropped the speech therapy. When Seth started

pecs, not the objects but the pics, they INCREASED his speech to 5 times a

week, one on one with the speech therapist. Wonder why they are just

opposite?

<< Gail,

We do not have very good speech people here. All they know about is

articulation. They have been working on JJ to say m, p, f for 4 years with

no results. He is getting PECS and that is his communication. The speech

people think he should vocalize to communcate.

Problem here is to get quality teachers of any type you have to pay them.

The lack of pay here is disgusting. You can go to the Bay Area and do much

better.

Guess we are very fortunate. The speech therapist that Seth has is thrilled

that he is using pecs. Guess she should really be known as a communications

therapist.

I have been fighting ever since Trisha started school for more speech and

yesterday when I dropped by Trisha's school to see how she was doing at her

new school, her teacher asked me if (now get this) I minded if they gave

Trisha speech everyday for 30 mins a day!!!!! Like I was going to say no. I

am so thrilled! This move might just be the best thing that has happened for

Trisha's education.
