Guest guest
More lies: 7. Autism is caused by older parents 8.Autism is caused by computer geek dads marrying computer geek moms and having hyper-computer geek kids (Silicon Valley Explanation). 9. Autism is caused by excessive TV watching. 10. Autism is caused by cell phones. 11. Thimerosal is perfectly safe. There are studies to prove it. (Comment- Oh, like the toxicology study in 1930 where 22 terminal meningitis patients were injected iwith thimerosal, all of them died and the study's conclusion was "No negative effects from thimerosal were noted?") Guest guest
Now that you mention it (#11) I tell other homeschooling parents who ask me if I think vaccines are related to autism two things: 1) that according to a CDC study, mercury in vaccines was somewhat helpful in preventing autism 2) that the amount of mercury in a flu shot is, by OSHA standards, acceptable for people weighing 550 lbs or more; then add this is for air & skin exposure, not for injection Of course homeschoolers may be a bit more doubting of governmental agencies to start with, after all we don't have our kids in the school system. Awareness is growing, I'm seeing it every day. But it won't be until someone like Jon of Colbert begin talking about this stuff that the health industry will absolutely have to do more by way of damage control. Just my two cents. BTW, does anyone have reliable references for stmt #2? Know I've read this several times, and am now repeating it to whoever seems receptive. Would like to know it's true and verifiable. Guest guest
If I'm reading it correctly, #2 was "There is no Autism epidemic." I've heard this several times. This is a link from "60 Minutes" from February 18th, where Dr. Goodman, a epidemiologist from s Hopkins, says, "The explosive increase that has been claimed is almost certainly not true." It's on page 3 of the link. He's not the only one who has stated this, but I remember seeing the program and about falling out of my chair, especially when Stahl let that statement pass without challenging it. http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2007/02/15/60minutes/main2483414.shtml?source=search_story Bloomquist Dad

Bloomquist Dad, here's what I posted in snippet form: 1) that according to a CDC study, mercury in vaccines was somewhat helpful in preventing autism 2) that the amount of mercury in a flu shot is, by OSHA standards, acceptable for people weighing 550 lbs or more; then add this is for air & skin exposure, not for injection When I say these things my fellow homeschooling parents seem to 'get it' right away. But then I've only been saying it to folks I know are receptive enough to pick up the implication that there is a cover up going on. What I would like to be able to substantiate is a) the amount of mercury in a flu shot contrast that to OSHA standards for mercury exposure for industrial workers Marty -- Autism Homeschooler's discussion list AutismHomeschool/ Webmaster's Bulletin Board - http://bbs.face2interface.com/

Guest guest
Marty- Here's a couple of links, if you hadn't seen them already: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=6890106663412840646 This one is a 1hr 31 minute tape of Doctor Ayoub giving a speech at a Radio Liberty Conference in Aptos, CA in 2005. The first 30-40 minutes I thought were very good, and he shows figures on the mercury levels in shots. He also has a graph that shows acceptable mercury levels for water (2 Parts per billion), etc, etc, until he gets to kid's vaccines and then the amount is shown as 50,000 parts per billion... http://www.whale.to/vaccines/thimerosal.htm This is a very informative thimerosal site. If you need anything more, let me know. Later, BD
