Exactly. Quality and intensity vary. I have spoke to more than a few

top nationally known ABA/VB consultants and there isn't even

agreement into what constitutes a good program. We personally have

seen this with our own child's programming. Every ABA consult we

moved on to felt they knew better than the last on how to handle

issues. Rarely, was this true.

And as somebdoy said ABA doesn't address underlying immune system

issues and chronic GI problems. We were trying to get a sick little

boy to sit and learn when he obviously had other problems going on.

To think a tele-conference is going to help all children with autism

is ridiculus. Also, the influx into the field of ABA has been

astounding. I know more than a handful of people who are now board

certified BCBA's that I wouldn't let them " train " my neighbor's dog.

It sounds like a band-aid for a broken bone.

And as Mr. said his grandson had a host of other health

problems that were not being addressed therefore making ABA less

effective. That was my son. I believe that is more the rule than the

exception.

If there is no plan to first look into the INDIVIDUAL health issues

of these kids in a real and meaningful way- this idea witll fail

miserably.

Yes, some kids will improve or even " recover " with ABA. We have seen

that for years, but so many more could be doing so much better if the

medical issues were addressed.

I don't think there is going to be any medical issues addressed,

leaving only pharma to address with psycho-tropic meds.

What can't be addressed with ABA will be addressed by meds.

different. Some kids improve on ABA-some don't. Some people love

ABA-some don't. The spectrum is broad-very broad---
