Guest guest
not true re the model for all states. SC has a bill right now before the senaate(we are still having trouble passing it, but getting closer) that will include any treatments that the child's doctor recommends-aba, bio-med etc. Maurinedpowell605 <POWDER914@...> wrote: I was at a conference this past weekend where the Speaker of the House for Pennsylvania mentioned that he is introducing a bill on Wednesday to reform the insurance laws to allow for autism as a diagnosis. (Will be HB 1150 - for 1 in 150).He commented that all the autism groups recently got together and this is the agenda to reform the laws in all states. The s (Bob and Suzanne) are scheduled to be in burg on Wed for the announcemnt. ALong with someone from the Sopranos?? I didn't get the chance to ask if was coming or if he knew about her on Oprah -- he said that he supports only things that are documented scientifically through double-blind studes.A wonderful audience member and parent asked if the speaker had read EOH since he spouted that vaccines were safe and there was no thimerosal in vaccines -- he said that he had not read the book so someone thankfully gave him a copy (I'm sure he read it on the way home - LOL). I haven't seen the bill yet, but I'm guessing it'll be no help to those of us using biomedical and this is the model they are proposing in all states he said. So, we've got lots of work to do if this is the plan!Diane Ahhh...imagining that irresistible "new car" smell? Check out new cars at Autos. Guest guest
Maureen- I heard the SC bill had been watered down to provide coverage to only the most severe cases of autism (something like 10%). Is this true? If so, it may be worse than nothing...
