Guest guest
I do! From: erekg1973 <erektg@...> Subject: My IPPB broke Date: Wednesday, December 7, 2011, 7:33 PM Â Hey everybody, I'm not sure how many of you still use the old technology of the IPPB (intermittent positive pressure breathing apparatus/machine/device), but I've been lost the last few days without mine. The nebulizer just doesn't cut it for me I need help getting the mist down all the way into my lungs. Luckily my respiratory therapy place found me a unit down in Burbank (I live in Camarillo about an hour northwest of Los Angeles) that I can rent. I spent Sunday night and all day Monday looking for places on the Internet where I could find a refurbished AP-5. They haven't made this machine since 1992, haven't manufactured parts since 1995, and I've had mine since 1988. I was able to find some on the Internet ranging from $350-$650 plus shipping. I will include a link at the bottom of this message to the ad of the best place that I found he has 33 left that he has refurbished and he sells them for $350. I remember a thread a few years ago when someone's IPPB broke down and there were people who couldn't find new ones so I am including a link to this guys website, if you call him he's very knowledgeable and helpful. I bought one from him and it will be here in a week or two, but I'm so happy my supplier (MetroMed) had one sitting in storage that I can use until then. How many people out there still use the good old IPPB? It sure is old technology but I love it. Good luck to all, Erek and Honor III (CCI service dog extraordinaire) <http://www.dotmed.com/listing/respirator/puritan-bennett/ap-5/73224>
Guest guest
I use it too! I'm 21 years old and have used it twice a day, more when I'm sick, since 1993. I thought I was the only one who still uses that machine! I recently tried the IPV though and I think it works better. I've been trying to get one, but my insurance keeps denying it (yet I have no trach/vent and they cover 24/7 nursing RNs and LPNs - makes NO SENSE) Any ideas on how to get the IPV approved? > > From: erekg1973 <erektg@...> > Subject: My IPPB broke > > Date: Wednesday, December 7, 2011, 7:33 PM > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Â > > > > > > > > > > Hey everybody, > > > > I'm not sure how many of you still use the old technology of the IPPB (intermittent positive pressure breathing apparatus/machine/device), but I've been lost the last few days without mine.
