Guest guest
Thank you, , for posting updates to the group, and thank you everyone for your well-wishes. I got home early this afternoon, had a training session with my nurse about my new I.V. access line and mixing meds, and have unpacked. It's wonderful to be home with Chuck and our cats. We spent much of the evening cuddled up watching The Deadliest Catch and reveling in alone time. After such a frightening and exhausting week I am grateful for the incredible loving people in my life, and recognize even more my fragility that is hopelessly intertwined with my strength, patience, stamina, and determination. This very aggressive mortality reality check is on my mind, and it's compounded by such a sorrowful thing having Hershey die last night. I had the privilege of spending some time with her when she was in California, and have always loved her writing. She usually stomped me in Scrabble, and it was nice to have a sister advocate to chat with about public policy, politics, personal assistance management, and just the daily things in life every once in a while. I am heartbroken for her partner Robin and their 14 year old daughter who they adopted a bit more than a year ago. Such an awesome trio of beautiful, vibrant women.
